Professor Patterson, who is from Jamaica and writes frequently about the Caribbean, talks about his latest book, The Confounding Island: Jamaica and the Post-Colonial Predicament (Cambridge: The Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 2019). The wide-ranging discussion covers topics such as reggae music, cricket matches, economics and politics.
